Img24777At the 84th Congress of the International Chess Federation FIDE, which took place in Tallinn, Estonia October 1st through 10th, 2013, a decision was made to create two cups for the Men’s and Women’s Grand Prix. FIDE’s President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov lent wholehearted support to this initiative.
The women’s championship award is made up of two precious trophies - large and small - which are crafted in silver and gold, encrusted with diamonds. The original design is developed by Lobortas Classic Jewelry House, the creator of the Large and Small “Caissa” trophies for FIDE.
